Matthew A. Lovitt, MD, FACS
Dr. Lovitt served as a Major in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps. His service as Attending Surgeon, Chief-Surgical Services Sheppard AFB, and Chief-General Surgery England AFB was rewarded with the prestigious Meritorious Service Award for Meritorious Service and the Commendation Award for Meritorious Service. He was appointed to the Operating Room Utilization Task Force – serving at the direction of the Surgeon General of the Air Force in helping to remake and improve the delivery of surgical services in the United States Air Force.
Dr. Lovitt is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Southwestern Surgical Society and a member of the Dallas County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, American Society of General Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, National Board of Medical Examiners (Diplomate), and the Society of Baylor Surgeons. Dr. Lovitt has been named by his peers to the Texas Monthly Super Doctors® list.
He also has special expertise in complicated spine exposures, rib fracture repairs, complex hernia repairs and abdominal wall reconstruction.
