General Surgery
Nathan Vaughan, MPH, MD completed his undergraduate, Master of Public Health, and medical school education at the University of Oklahoma. He completed his general surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in pediatric trauma at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas before returning to BUMC for surgical critical care as the inaugural fellowship class. Joining the team at BUMC in 2016, Dr. Vaughan is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery with added qualifications in Critical Care. He holds an Adjunct Assistant Professor faculty appointment with Texas A&M Health Sciences Center and is involved in the training of surgical residents, surgical critical care fellows, and advanced practice providers (APPs). He is the chair of the BUMC ECMO council, Co-chair for the E-CPR program and in 2018, he became an associate program director for the surgical critical care fellowship.
