Jennifer Mooney, MD, FACS completed both her general surgery residency and surgical critical care fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. Upon completion of fellowship in 2012, Dr. Mooney joined the faculty at LSU Medical School as Assistant Professor of Surgery and remained part of the Trauma Critical Care division until 2017 when she joined the Urgent Surgery Associates, PA, team. Dr. Mooney is diplomat of the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Eastern Society for the Surgery of Trauma, member initiate for the Western Trauma Association, member of the Cohn-Rives Surgical Society, Parkland Surgical Society, the Association of Women Surgeons and she serves as an invited member of the Scientific Advisory Board for the Aortic Trauma Foundation. She holds an Adjunct Assistant Professor faculty appointment with Texas A&M Health Sciences Center and currently serves as Associate Program Director for the general surgery residency program.
