Michael Foreman, MD, FACS

Michael Foreman, MS, MD, FACS completed his surgical training at Baylor University Medical Center and entered into practice there in 1987 with special interests in Trauma and Critical Care. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery with certifications in Surgery and Critical Care. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has served as a state Chairman for the ACS Committee on Trauma. A member of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization, he led the efforts that culminated in BUMC becoming and ACS verified Level One Trauma Center in 1998 and continues to serve as its Trauma Medical Director.

In addition to serving as the Trauma Medical Director and Chief of the Division, Dr. Foreman is co-director of the Surgical ICU and the Cardiothoracic/Transplant ICU. An early supporter of the ACS Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQUIP) he represents the Institution in the State collaborative (Texas TQUIP), as well as nationally. A Professor of Surgery at Texas A&M Health Sciences Center he is active in teaching medical students, residents, fellows and advanced care practitioners and is a frequent speaker at national, regional and local venues. Dr. Foreman is a founding member of both Urgent Surgery Associates, P.A. (1998) and North Texas Critical Care (2014).
