Geoffrey Funk, MD, FACS completed his undergraduate and medical school education at Texas A&M University. He completed his residence training in General Surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in 2009 and a fellowship in Trauma & Surgical Critical Care at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2010. He is board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care through the American Board of Surgery and joined Urgent Surgery Associates in 2010.
Dr. Funk is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, holds memberships in Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the Association of Surgical Education and the Texas Surgical Society. He has been Clerkship Director for Surgery at the Dallas training campus for Texas A&M University College of Medicine since 2011 and holds the rank of Adjunct Associate Professor. He has received numerous teaching awards and is currently pursuing a graduate degree through Southern Methodist University with a focus on adult medical education.
